Over the last few months, I've experienced many changes. From the personal to the professional, nothing has stayed the same. And yet through it all, I've somehow managed to maintain a smile (of sorts). 

As far as my personal style, I've embraced some elements outside of my comfort zone. I received a pair of Dolce & Gabbana heels as a late birthday present but just wasn't in love with them. So, I exchanged them for two of the items in this post, the Meteo by Yves Salomon Beanie and the Saint Laurent Mini Fringe Bucket Bag. After a bout with unreliable knit hats from Eugenia Kim, I decided to up my headgear game with a brand that's known for quality: Yves Salomon. Yves Salomon is a third-generation furrier with Siberian roots but Parisian sensibilities. The atelier is famed for its exquisite craftsmanship, working with designers from Azzedine Alaia to Yves Saint Laurent. As for Meteo, think of the diffusion line as the sibling of Yves, still fashion-forward while maintaining the family's level of quality. 

As for the other newcomer, the Saint Laurent mini, that was a huge departure for me. Yes, fringe is all the rage but I prefer not to purchase on-trend items. For me, it's all about future wearability. To be honest, I've been skeptical of Slimane's Saint Laurent. The house has embraced this subculture of grunge and punk rock that played more to my tastes back when I was a teenager in the 90s. However, slowly I'm shedding my "grandma chic" and returning to my edgier roots. So, I took a chance on the Monogramme Bourse  and haven't a single regret. It's the perfect length and size for daily wear, with just the right amount of fringe without being overwhelming. Now I'm on the hunt for a few more pieces with movement, perhaps a pair of fringe ankle boots?
