...and I'm back! I apologize for the hiatus but I do have some exciting developments underway, so please be patient. In the meantime, I thought I'd share with you guys, some of my favorite pieces from Net - A -Porter's current spring summer collection. I don't know what the trends are or what's in the forecast, but I do know what I like. Let's start, top to bottom, left to right:

J.Crew Eyelet-embellished cotton dress: There is nothing dreamier for summer than a white eyelet dress. It is light, airy, and comfortable. Breathable fashion is always in style.

Chloe Paraty Medium leather bag: In need of a black bag replacement? Then look no further than the Paraty in slate. It is much softer for wear during the warmer months and will drift perfectly into the fall.

Giuseppe Zanotti Bow-embellished suede platform sandals: The heel is 6 1/2 inches, enough said (and yes, they are walkable. I've tried them on).

Erickson Beamon Confetti gunmetal-plated Swarovski crystal cuff: Statement pieces are far more classic than wearing a myriad of bracelets. "Arm party" may be in vogue now, but you'll look back on the cluster... and wish you'd invested in a few good bracelets.

Camilla and Marc Revival twill mini dress: Leave it to Camilla and Marc to come up with yet another lust-worthy dress (I'm still not over this one). C & M's twill dress is a playful nod to the 50s, with a modern twist.

Chloe Marcie Large leather tote: The Marcie is a brilliant transitional tote. The light brown hue can be paired with pretty much everything in your wardrobe.

Yves Saint Laurent Tribtoo suede pumps: The Tribtoo is a must-have style, arguably more so than a pair from a red-bottomed contemporary. And navy is perfect because it is the spring summer black.

Yves Saint Laurent Arty'n Color gold-plated glass ring: Unusual stone colors and shapes are the lure of this Yves Saint Laurent ring. You won't need to stack loads of rings on your fingers with that four-stoned gem.

Lover Christina lace mini dress: Probably one of the first lace mini dresses that I've come across that will work with not only the obligatory heel, but also a pair of flats. Major want.

Miu Miu Matelasse Luxe leather clutch: The matelasse technique used on this clutch reminds me of a similar technique used by Balenciaga. I'm not sure which came first, but the approach is alluring.

Yves Saint Laurent Tribute suede sandal: The Tribute sandal is an elegant alternative to a chunky heel or wedge. It has the sexiness of a stiletto but with a bit more body.

Yves Saint Laurent Arty Too gold-plated Swarovski crystal ring: It's like wearing a gold nugget on your finger, adorned with stones. One might say, it is a ring fit for a Queen...

[Last Night's Party] SNOCRU Apres Ski & Snowboard Party in NYC

I was invited to the launch of SNOCRU, a free mobile app that connects you to the mountains. The SNOCRU app was supposed be perfect for all of you snow bunnies out there -- you can check global snow conditions, connect with your friends on the mountain in real time, track your day on the slopes, and/or find the best apres party scene or a local shop. I thought the SNOCRU app sounded brilliant but my only question was, if there's no cellular service on the mountain, then how will you use the app in real time?

The event was hosted at Gallery Bar, one of my haunts on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. There was a complimentay bar with signature cocktails from William Grant & Sons. My drink for the evening, REYKA Vodka's delicious "White As Snow," quite possibly the smoothest vodka soda that I've ever had in my life. Apparently, Iceland is where it's at for crisp, smooth vodka. The next time you're out and thinking of grabbing a vodka drink, may I suggest you give REYKA a try. You'll be pleasently surprised with it's non-battary acid taste!

There were SNOCRU gear giveaways (I managed to snag the above oversized t-shirt), a Rockwell watch giveaway, and a live feed that streamed not only ski videos but images shot by the party goers using the SNOCRU app!

[Shoeicide] Alexander Wang Footwear

Feast your eyes on the world's most uncomfortable shoes. That's right, the above Alexander Wang Constance Ankle Boots are so uncomfortable that I only wear them when a vehicle is involved. And what's more, the Constance aren't the only Chinese foot binding shoes from the designer. I also own his Cecilia and have virtually the same problem, the inability to walk for longer than 5 minutes at a time.

A few months back, I received a few emails concerning the Constance, and whether or not I would recommend them. I told every single young woman to stay far, far away from the Constance. Today, I am extending that warning to ALL of Alexander Wang's footwear. I've even tried on my friend's Kasia wedged sandals and the feeling was mutual: my feet were again, in the house of pain. And you'd think, at roughly $600 a pop, Wang's footwear would be crafted in such a way that wouldn't have the potential to leave my feet horribly disfigured. So, the next time you're browsing the designer footwear in your favorite boutique, heed my warning: Alexander Wang manufactures the world's most uncomfortable shoes.

[New York Fashion Week] Lynn Devon F/W 2012 Collection Preview

If you're a young woman with a taste for classic American style (a la Audrey Hepburn) then Lyn Devon is the designer for you. Devon (pictured above in grey), who presented her first Ready-to-Wear collection in 2005, has quickly become a rising star within the fashion world. And in addition to her accolades and awards, Devon was accepted as 1 of the 30 new members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The fashion community has recognized a few important aspects to her design that were crucial for the classic American aesthetic: impeccable tailoring and timeless style.

Devon's F/W 2012 Collection was titled, "New York Love Story," complete with feminine shapes, kiss-me colors, and cozy textures. Long lines, exquisite tailoring (seriously, I could not stop going on about the quality and precision of every stitch), and some of the softest textures made "New York Love Story" perfect for drifting into fall. Sure, there was a nod to the masculine with the trouser pants and suit jackets but they were always met with feminine accents, such as cinched waist, delicate buttons, and slightly exaggerated lapels.

Devon's young woman for fall has grown out of the oversized and misshapen sacks that have become synonymous with NYC style. Instead, she's prim and pressed, sure to have every bit in place. Personally, I'm looking forward to a fall with women who look more like women, in all of their power and prestige.

[New York Fashion Week] Kara Ross F/W 2012 Collection Preview

During New York Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of attending Kara Ross's unveiling of her Fall/Winter 2012 Collection in a penthouse suite overlooking Central Park West. Founded in 2003, Kara Ross's fine jewelry has become known for its bold and unique use of exotic skins, gemstones, and precious metals. Her collection includes several jewelry lines, handbags, and other accessories. Kara Ross Fall/Winter 2012 Collection was inspired by Ross's recent trip to Morocco. The trip's influence on the collection was evident: rich and vibrant gemstones, reptile skins, precious metal plating, and the iconic Scarab beetle.

The handbags and clutches were outfitted in a variety of reptile skins and leathers, some of which were custom dyed in order to maintain the desert aesthetic. And this coming season, you will be able to customize your bag at available retailers, selecting the stone(s), closure(s), and skin(s) as you see fit. You could say Ross's collection was fit for a queen (my birthday is August 14th if you'd like to start saving) especially with the addition of the jewelry. The Scarab beetle was worshipped by the ancient Egyptians as the embodiment of the god Khepri. Jewelry that bore the Scarab was only worn by Egyptian kings and queens as a symbol of considerable power and wealth. And with stones ranging from hematite to onyx, you would be hard-pressed to feel anything other than regal.

[New York Fashion Week] Some of the details from Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld's hosted Ouattara Watts: Vertigo

I don't wear a lot of jewelry, so I don't subscribe to the much talked about "arm party" that's all the rage in fashion blogging. However, I can most certainly appreciate a fine handbag and/or pair of shoes. Although I wasn't blown away by the looks at Vertigo, I was fairly enamored with some of the accessories. Putty colored suede Prada boots, Chanel Maxi and Jumbo 2.55 purses, a Hermes clutch: I was in a high-end heaven.

The color palettes on most of the guests were fairly neutral, with only the occasional splash of color. Personally, I endeavor to carry black well into the spring months, perhaps incorporating some blush/nude tones for accents. And while I can't see myself wearing heaps of glitter (a texture in the spring forecast) I can see some additional suede pieces making their way into my closet: perhaps a peplum skirt, short sleeve top and/or sandals? I'll be sure to avoid the April showers that bring May flowers.

[New York Fashion Week] Some of the fashionable guests from Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld's hosted Ouattara Watts: Vertigo.

At the start of New York Fashion Week, Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld hosted the opening of Ouattara Watts: Vertigo. Over 1000 guests from the worlds of arts and fashion came out to celebrate Ouattara Watt's solo exhibition.

Vertigo, the first major solo exhibition from Ouattara Watts in nearly five years, featured 15 large-scale paintings. The work contained an unmistakable aesthetic that integrated traditional painting, native emblems, and collages of everyday materials. Watts emerged on the international art scene over 25 years ago as a prolific painter, whose work breathed a fresh air into the Neo-Expressionist landscape.

The looks weren't as outrageous as the last Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld hosted event that I attended, but the few that I was able to capture were worthy of sharing. [New York Fashion Week] Celine with envy

While heading out of viewing Lyn Devon at the Hudson Hotel, I ran into a most fashionable young woman, sporting a suspiciously similar tote! I'm carrying the infamous Celine Luggage Tote in Putty, a color that I believed was only available in the United Kingdom. At first glance, I thought fashion blogger Blair Eadie (who looks like she could be Sienna Miller's twin sister) from Atlantic Pacific was carrying the exact same color but upon closer inspection, hers was a beautiful carmel. We immediately bonded over our precious totes and chatted excitedbly about fashion week. She then rushed off to another show but only in the most incredible Giuseppe Zanotti platforms. I love when great fashion minds think alike!

[New York Fashion Week] Street Style with What Would Ashley Wear?

We all know that New York Fashion Week is all about posturing; everyone is scrambling to get their photo taken by either The Sartorialist, Bill Cunningham and/or Refinary29. And most are wearing only the most extravagent outfits to ensure same. Personally, I much prefer those who wear looks that are not only eye-catching but believeable. If you're going to dress like a circus performer, then it better be an everyday thing.

Fortunately, blogger Ashley from What Would Ashley Wear? did not disappoint. I absolutely loved her blush corseted Dolce & Gabanna dress with black trim and gold accents. Ashley's romantic nod to spring was not only fashion week appropriate but believeable; I could just as easily see her wearing the same number during the warmer months with stappy heels or darling flats. Hello lovelies! I apologize for the disappearance but I've just returned from an unforgettable trip to London. I've always wanted to visit and when a recent opportunity arose to do so, I practically flew out of the door.

I scored my Brian Lichtenberg Gold Geo Glitter Shift Dress from one of the many London shopping meccas Selfridges. Selfridges was quite possibly, the largest luxury department store that I've ever seen, boasting several floors and levels of everything from All Saints to Balenciaga. While there, I assisted my international travel buddy Lelah with her first luxury dress selection. For her petite figure, I went with the Brian Lichtenberg Black / Silver Patchwork Glitter Dress. The Patchwork Glitter Dress was perfect thanks to the one strong shoulder and mixed textures, which emphasized her tiny frame. As for me, it should come as no surprise that I selected a dress that emphasized what else, my legs! I paired my dress with a pair of tomato red suede YSL pumps, the perfect compliment for black and gold. The only criticism I had of the above Brian Litchtenberg designs was the shedding. We practically left a trail of glitter everywhere we went!

And if you're wondering about my English Geisha, she was our hostess for the late evening. She made sure that we were not only well-entertained but properly full with champagne and cocktails. Believe me, a lot of confessions were made on that glitter covered dance floor.

As the temps continue to drop here in the tri-state area, I find myself dreaming of warmer states: Southern Florida, Texas and California. Speaking of California, have you seen the acts scheduled to play at this year's Coachella? I'd love to see M83, Cat Power, Rapture, RADIOHEAD, Feist, Santigold, Justice, Florence + the Machine, Grace Potter and the Nocutrals and several others but Feist said it best with, "It may be years until the day / my dreams will match up with my pay." Maybe next year!

[Last Night's Party] From Casino to The Woods

Above are just some of the beautiful people present at Casino (formally the Ludlow Manor) and The Woods. In all of my years spent haunting the Lower East Side, I never once heard the name Ludlow Manor, so perhaps the invention of Casino was a good idea. Casino was about as dark and smokey as you'd imagine most any venue in Manhattan, particularly on the LES, filled with a crop of downtown folk. Dark nail polish, bright red lips, lace, and heavy metal arm candy were on pretty much all of the women. The men were varied: anywhere from tattoos and long hair to cleaner cuts with collared shirts and denim. The music was good but it wasn't consistent. I felt as though the DJ allowed the momentum of the evening to die entirely too early considering the amount of people present in the venue (they had to have been near capacity). Management may want to think on that for upcoming events.

The Woods virtually never fails. Tucked away in a seemingly remote section of Williamsburg, The Woods is always packed with people who just want to dance. And those people will dance until the venue closes. The drinks were noticeably cheaper than Casino (I mean, we're in Brooklyn) so the combination of the two made for the perfect evening for fun with friends. And for those of you looking for somewhere to "post up" and look for the opposite sex, The Woods is not the place. Try the meat market at Union Pool (also in Williamsburg); it is much closer to a subway station/bridge so you can make your getaway with whatever is on that night's menu.

[Last Night's Party] Le Bain's Mercury Nights at The Standard Hotel

Last night, I enjoyed a wonderful evening of dancing with some of my girlfriends at Le Bain. Known for some pretty wild summer parties, Le Bain is one of the two hot spots located inside The Standard Hotel in New York. Le Bain boasts of breath-taking views of New York City, roof-access (when seasonally appropriate) and bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling window walls. But before you freak out about some passerby watching you tinkle, take comfort in the fact that Le Bain is located on the 18th floor, safe from the eyes of mere mortals (as long as they don't have binoculars).

The music was great; I definitely lost it when I heard Robyn's 'Hang with me.' Chrissy and I mixed and mingled, meeting other party goers from as far away as The Netherlands to as close as Williamsburg. It's always nice to go out and meet people with great energy. I highly recommend Le Bain to anyone visiting New York City and looking for a fun midweek party, that won't be filled with a bunch of pretentious assholes and/or bottle chasers. Just make sure you get on the guest list; it's entirely too cold to wait on a line for a venue.

[Happy Holidays] Rebecca Minkoff's Casio G-Shock Launch Party

A few nights ago, I had the pleasure of attending Rebecca Minkoff's Casio G-Shock Launch Party at The Back Room in New York. Rebecca Minkoff teamed up with Baby-G to create her own unique timepiece, representative of the "downtown romantic" aesthetic we've come to know and love. I love that Minkoff's watch, unlike other Baby-Gs, is made of a black ion plate with a matte black stainless steel and resin finish. And the watch wouldn't be a Minkoff without perfectly offsetting the black with a pink champagne dial. [Vanity Fair] A Winter Safari in AKA New York

AKA New York Safari Romper (worn as a top), American Apparel Multi-Layered Reversible Petticoat, YSL Tribute Platform Pumps, Henri Bendel Bracelet, and Michael Kors Watch.

I absolutely love my AKA New York Safari Romper but wearing a silk onesie during the fall/winter months would be grounds for my committal to an asylum. So, I did what any young woman, desperate to continue wearing her favorite spring/summer piece (within some measure of reason) would do; I layered. I paired the romper with opaque tights and placed a petticoat over-top the bottom half of the romper, concealing the shorts.
