Above are my top favorite looks from Jill Stuart's Fall 2013 Collection. Truthfully, I want the entire collection. As a long-time fan of Jill Stuart, her collections always speak to my inner girlie-girl, and this time, she's got a pedigree. The collection's current inspiration is Stella Tennant, a British model with an aristocratic lineage. Granted, I do not possess the pedigree, I most certainly possess the inclination to own frocks worthy of castles in the English countryside!
Most of the dresses were made from what appeared to be some kind of intricate wool-lace, laser-cut wool and finished, at times, with a foil fabric. Thankfully, Stuart kept the silhouette simple, which played down the intensity of material compositions. The final result: a fall collection that I am desperate to own and saunter around the streets of New York in. The looks haven taken risks in such ways that girls like myself can pull them off without feeling like we're trying to hard. Stuart has given the girlie-girl street credibility, without sacrificing her spirit and that's something that I can appreciate.
