[Fall Preview] Elizabeth and James E-Moxy 

I'm sure you're all familiar with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's modern lifestyle brand Elizabeth and James which spans from women's to now, a men's line. I'm not familiar with any of  clothing, as I don't own any but the above pair is my second piece from their footwear collection. I basically scoured the internet for the E-Moxy booties since January, coming close in February with a black leather pair from Bergdorf Goodman. Unfortunately, that pair was a 1/2 too big, so I had to return them. A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon the above pair on theOutnet, Net-A-Porter's discount site notorious for posting loads of past season merchandise. Not only were the  booties on sale but my size was available! Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, I do have two criticisms about Elizabeth and James footwear.

Sizing. I am a solid US 9 or European 40. I already have a pair of shoes from Elizabeth and James (seen here) and although they fit perfectly at a size 9, they're slingbacks. The E-Moxy's fit but they aren't terribly comfortable. I'm hoping that after I've properly broken them in, they'll be easier to wear; I just their size 9s were more uniform.

Quality. The shoes look and feel great but I can't help this nagging quality concern that I have. I'm pleased that these shoes are manufactured in Brazil and not China, so perhaps they will stand the test of time and the many hard wears that I will give them! After just running around in the booties in my yard and on the sidewalk, I can tell that they will need to be resoled after a few hard wears which is a bit annoying. In the end, how the shoes hold up is merely a question of time. 

Nevertheless, I can't wait to wear these babies come the fall and winter. I think they'll look especially adorable with my Nanette Lepore Poison Ring Coat (seen here). There's nothing like buying for fall and winter during the summer!
