For days when I don't want to wear a heavy coat, I turn to layering. The above pieces are some of my favorites. My Miu Miu Trench Coat is one my prized possessions. It's feminine but not overwhelming so, which is nice. It is also slightly big, which is perfect for layering.
Enter my DKNY Cozy. If you do not own a DKNY Cozy, then you are missing a critical piece to your wardrobe. The Cozy is one of those pieces that you can legitimately wear year-round. Saleswomen (and men) will try and sell you on pieces that "you can take from one season to next" but most of the time, that's bull. The Cozy is the real deal. The silk cashmere blend is the perfect combination of materials which together promote comfort, breathability and warmth. The Cozy also comes in a variety of colors. I've owned the above Cozy for several years, a testament to its durability.
Did you think I was kidding about the use of my Portolano hat? It's barely November.
Finally, the 7 For All Mankind Jiselle flares are the best pair of flares that I've owned in my entire life. I'm not kidding. They are incredibly flattering; my legs appear to go on for miles. I'm only 5'4 (possibly 5'5). And no, 7FAM did not send the Jiselle to me and pay me for my praise. 7FAM wouldn't have to because the jeans are amazing. The elasticity and recovery of the denim are virtually unseen, at least, by me. I can wear them several times and the look remains as though I put them on for the first time. I challenge all other denim designers to make a better flare jean -- and be sure to send them in my 30something inch hip direction. I'm a real girl that will give them a real test run.
