The above look is what I call my winter uniform: a structured jacket, silk blouse and denim. I just alter the accessories and additional winter pieces, depending on the event or schedule for the day.
The Faith Connexion jacket is from Intermix. Although the salespeople at Intermix are usually dreadful, that won't stop me from acquiring a great piece. I love the how usual it is: a military inspired peplum jacket? Yes please! It is like wearing a sculpted piece of art. I am really looking forward to reaching into my closet, and pulling out that jacket in winters to come.
Equipment is officially my favorite silk blouse brand. I own several and am constantly on the look out for new colors and prints. Their blouses are easy to wear and transition from day to night with little to no fuss. My love for the brand is so deep, that I now compare all potential silk blouses to my Equipments. If they don't even come close to meeting the Equipment standard, then I refuse to purchase them. I know, it sounds snobby but let's not kid ourselves here: silk blouses today are running around $200 USD; if you're going to spend the money then spend it on quality not style. Anticipate more blouses from Equipment in future posts as I will be wearing silk into the summer. I just hope they feature more short sleeve, sleeveless styles as well as dresses.
