[Shoeicide] Alexander Wang Footwear

Feast your eyes on the world's most uncomfortable shoes. That's right, the above Alexander Wang Constance Ankle Boots are so uncomfortable that I only wear them when a vehicle is involved. And what's more, the Constance aren't the only Chinese foot binding shoes from the designer. I also own his Cecilia and have virtually the same problem, the inability to walk for longer than 5 minutes at a time.

A few months back, I received a few emails concerning the Constance, and whether or not I would recommend them. I told every single young woman to stay far, far away from the Constance. Today, I am extending that warning to ALL of Alexander Wang's footwear. I've even tried on my friend's Kasia wedged sandals and the feeling was mutual: my feet were again, in the house of pain. And you'd think, at roughly $600 a pop, Wang's footwear would be crafted in such a way that wouldn't have the potential to leave my feet horribly disfigured. So, the next time you're browsing the designer footwear in your favorite boutique, heed my warning: Alexander Wang manufactures the world's most uncomfortable shoes.

[Happy Holidays] Downtown Chic courtesy of Alexander Wang

ALEXANDER WANG

The holidays aren't major for me: my family doesn't celebrate so I never expect any gifts. However, the above items from Alexander Wang wouldn't hurt. I'm always looking for additional items to add to my "all black everything" wardrobe. The items I've posted are a selection from a massive sale Alexander Wang is currently having online. Normally, retailers hold off until after Christmas to post deep discounts but with the economy being what it is, you're all in luck. As the holiday season continues on, I'll be posting more "super sale" gift guides for you lovelies to indulge in -- share and share alike!

[Something New] Alexander Wang Constance Ankle Boots

Feast your eyes on my Alexander Wang Constance Ankle Boots and my French Bulldog Hogan! For some reason, he decided that he wanted to make another cameo on my blog and sat down right next to the shoes. Isn't he adorable?

Alexander Wang isn't known for designing comfortable footwear, so prepare your feet for a workout. I consider the Constance to be the, "cab-to the venue-to the cab" shoes because casual walking is simply out of the question. The stacked heel measures at 5.5 inches with no arch support, creating quite a precarious situation. Nevertheless, the Constance are apart of my fall/winter wardrobe and I can't wait to wear them with some of my favorite pieces, such as my Nanette Lepore Poison Ring Coat. Bring on the cold weather already!

[Indian Summer] All Hail the Queen

Images by Michael R. McMahan

Eyeglasses Warby Parker Blouse AKA New York Shorts 7 For All Mankind Necklace Rachel Leigh Shoes Alexander Wang

My friends up north wish it were that warm. I'm currently on vacation in Florida, soaking up as much sun as humanly possible. I mean, can you blame me? I'm a recent law school graduate, who is unemployed and miserable.

I vow to only do outfit posts on what I actually wear. I really can't stand fashion blogger fame and dressing up just to have my picture taken. So if I'm wearing something you like (or dislike) trust that it is actually apart of my "personal style," whatever nebulous thing that is...

[Summer in the City] Lower East Side Love

Shirt Alexander Wang Tank Velvet Shorts Levi's Belt Uniqlo Bag Topshop Boots Luxury Rebel Sunglasses Karen Walker

I shot my friend Chrissy around the Lower East Side, New York on a bright and sunny day (much unlike NYC's current disposition). Her look is very downtown; easy, comfortable and with pieces that can transcend trends and seasons. While I will spend ages trying to look like a girl about her fashion wits, she is just so effortless. Maybe I will take a cue from her going into the new year.

Be sure to check out Chrissy's new fashion blog here

I'm rich like a hot noise / T by Alexander Wang

I purchased the above T by Alexander Wang Tencel Variegated Rib Dress (yes, the style name is seriously that long) from shopbop a few months ago with a credit that I was dying to use. I didn't want to spend the money on something I'd normally buy, so I figured I'd use the opportunity to go outside of my comfort zone. Alexander Wang is definitely outside of my comfort zone. I've never been a huge fan of his "designs," but was absolutely smitten with the color of the dress. I think nude is my new black.

Smells Like Teen Spirit: Hackers break into Fashion Week

Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Looks like the kids have gone overboard, are self assured and watched Hackers far too many times. According to Racked and Gawker, Remy Renzullo and Becca Shumlin allegedly hacked into the database of major fashion PR firm BPCM and placed themselves on the guestlists of some of the most prominent fashion week shows (namely Alexander Wang, Preen, Cushnie et Ochs and Erin Fetherston). And the plot thickens: Becca is the daughter of Vermont State Senate President Peter Shumlin, who is now running for governor! Well you know what they say, bad press is better than no press, so this little scandal just might do his campaign some good. But this isn't the first time our Jolied pair has made a mockery of BPCM; they were in attendance at this past September's Fashion Week, even managing to get snapped by The Sartorialist. I'm curious as to whether or not BPCM will honor their fraudulent activities, seeing how they have become instant Fashion Week public enemies. Honestly, I'm impressed and think these two have some serious moxie. I, for one, hope to see them frolicking around the red velvet ropes but not Becca in those YSL caged heels (it's bloody cold in New York!)
