[Summer in the City] Spanish Moss

Crochet + Fringe Top H&M Lace Shorts Strawberry Shoes Aldo Clutch Vintage

Sometimes, it is easier just to shoot what your friends are wearing because they do it better. In the summer, especially summer in the city, I get caught up in my uniform so I'm not much to look at (unless you fancy denim + t-shirts until you die). I always love Lauren's interpretation of trends; she's current but still integrates her personal flare. Instead of piling on loads of necklaces and bracelets and wearing beaded flats in the spirit of what's "in," she wore only two gold pieces and a healthy glow. The best accessories are the ones we already have folks, our skin and our hair.

Vampire weekend / The Rosette Jacket

Jacket: H&M

[Rosette Jacket] The tainted royal flower bed, courtesy of H&M's Garden Collection.

Oh and pay no attention to my peek-a-boo bra and prepubescent chest -- certainly nothing to write home about.

I'm not a personal style blogger per se, so I just did this mini-preview to showoff my latest and greatest. Expect a proper post on this jacket in a few weeks when I have my social life back.

WHO DARES TO TAINT? H&M's The Garden Collection

A few weeks ago, H&M released their now infamous line The Garden Collection. I saw pieces from the collection around on various bloggers but wasn't completely sold. That was, of course, until I saw a recent post from Wendy B. that turned my Monday afternoon upside down. The Garden Collection is H&M's new environmentally conscious line constructed with organic cottons, linens and recycled polyester (I know, gasp) re-woven from old garments. And what's more, the organic cottons and linens were grown without the use of toxic chemicals and the recycled polyester was made from (get this) PET bottles or environmentally safe textile waste.

For painting my roses red, H&M may keep their head(s). Coming soon: the Queen's new jacket courtesy of Lauren Christine.
