Fresh out of the oven / Lafayette Clothing 

This clothing line is so new, I barely have any information on it! Recently, Lauren modeled a few pieces for an up and coming clothing line called Lafayette (details to follow in an upcoming post). Located in New York's famed Lower East Side, Lafayette focuses heavily on one of my favorite fashion food groups: shirts. Think the perfect oversized tee, well-tailored and chic flannels and a bevy of caps for the head-cases out there. 

Life is beautiful @ The Soho House

These images were taken with my Blackberry, from my massive sunbed, while on the roof of The Soho House. I was far too lazy + tired to get up and take proper shots of the party. Next time. 

The view was incredible -- note The Gansevoort Hotel in the 5th image, also known for fantastic rooftop parties. I ran into a few friends, made some new ones -- including Fonzworth Bentley (who prefers to be called Derrik) and drank some of the weakest mojitos I've ever had in my life. Can't complain too much though, great company, lots of dancing and a cool breeze were exactly what I needed.

I absolutely love summer in the city and though technically, it's still spring, my excitement for the impending season continues to grow uncontrollably. This past Sunday, after grabbing brunch with some friends, Lauren Christine and I decided to hang around the meatpacking district when I decided to shoot her very fabulous summer look. WHO DARES TO TAINT? H&M's The Garden Collection

A few weeks ago, H&M released their now infamous line The Garden Collection. I saw pieces from the collection around on various bloggers but wasn't completely sold. That was, of course, until I saw a recent post from Wendy B. that turned my Monday afternoon upside down. The Garden Collection is H&M's new environmentally conscious line constructed with organic cottons, linens and recycled polyester (I know, gasp) re-woven from old garments. And what's more, the organic cottons and linens were grown without the use of toxic chemicals and the recycled polyester was made from (get this) PET bottles or environmentally safe textile waste. 

For painting my roses red, H&M may keep their head(s). Coming soon: the Queen's new jacket courtesy of Lauren Christine. 

Lauren Christine Tonight on BET's Rip the Runway!

Tonight, you can watch one of my besties, Lauren Christine, on national television! She will be walking in BET's premiere fashion event called "Rip the Runway." For those of you who are unfamiliar with the program, Rip the Runway basically features prominent, as well as, up and coming black designers. In the past, brands such as Baby Phat, Ecko Red and Sean John have all been featured in various installments of the show. Rip the Runway is just as big as any other fashion event during fashion week, drawing countless celebrity models such as Joy Bryant to celebrity performers including T.I., Estelle and Ludacris. This is definitely an event not to be missed.  

You can catch Lauren at least three times tonight: she'll be walking for designer Gavin Douglas, The Look for Less and is featured in a Cover Girl commercial.  I am beyond excited for Lauren right now and would love for you guys to share in my happiness!   

Rip the Runway is slated to air at 10pm tonight on BET. Please check your local listings and/or cable provider for the appropriate numerical channel. For my international readers: I'm not sure if BET airs in your country (though I did catch it in Argentina) so again, check with your county's listings for American channels.

UPDATE: Just watched Lauren walk for British designer Gavin Douglas and she looked absolutely fabulous! Still watching for her Cover Girl commercial and other cameos!

UPDATE #2: Lauren just did an amazing job in her Cover Girl commercial!! And here's a little insider information -- Lauren doesn't even wear makeup because her skin is just that flawless. I'm totally jealous. 

UPDATE #3: The Look for Less was such a treat. They offered plenty of options for spring/summer including Lauren in a white fur shrug overtop a playful party dress. Hopefully I can get some images to share with you guys in my next post!

Before Brunch @ Alice + Olivia

I didn't have time to be bummed out about missing Rebecca Minkoff, Geren Ford and the Fashionista 2.0 Awards -- I had to hit the ground running. And on no sleep after securing the first red-eye into New York, I wanted to make the most of my time. since my schedule was in near complete disarray. We got a little turned around and missed the Vena Cava show [major bummer] but managed to get snagged for fashion interviews by AOL's Stylelist. You can check out the interviews of both myself and Lauren here. Since we had some time to kill before our next presentation, we decided to pop in our favorite midtown east shop, Alice + Olivia.

Spring Summer Feeling: Introducing Tolani Collection

I'm a little bummed out because all flights to New York have been canceled due to the snowstorm currently pounding the northeast. So, while Lauren is busy enjoying Rebecca Minkoff, Geren Ford, and others, I am stuck here, soaking up the sunshine and praying for a red-eye to hell. To pass the time, I've been admiring the new clothing line from one of my favorite scarf makers Tolani.

I'm sure you all recall the scarf craze that started around the summer of '07, thanks to the Olsens. It began first with the "middle eastern patterned" black and whites and exploded in '08 with prints from countless cultures. Tolani, however, tends to blend both the traditional and the modern, creating some of the most elegant scarves I've ever seen. Leave the pashminas for your mother and grandmother ladies; here's a brand that you can really enjoy by adapting it to your personal style.

While browsing around Blue Heaven Boutique, one of my favorite shopping sites online, I came across not only a selection of Tolani's famed scarves but a clothing line as well! I can't tell you how happy I am to see that the same quality and beautiful prints are now in blouse and dress form! Check out a few of my favorite pieces:
